The Role We are excited to advise that our Strathmerton maintenance team are looking for our Apprentice Fitter & Machinist.
Our Strathmerton site is located on the Victoria-New South Wales border and is where our various cheese products get sliced, wrapped, and packaged into various forms ready for distribution throughout Australia and export.
We are inviting applications from enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who are willing to undertake the first steps in their careers as Apprentice Fitters and Machinists.
The candidates must be willing to undertake a four-year apprenticeship focusing on technical knowledge and skills.
As an Apprentice Fitter and machinist, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining a range of mechanical, automated, and high-speed equipment to the applicable standards within a team environment.
Your hours of work will be Monday through Friday, with reasonable overtime as required.
This role will work closely with qualified maintenance tradespersons to maintain and commission industrial process equipment across the business.
You will gain practical skills in maintaining pumps, valves, fans, homogenisers, electric motors, and TIG welding stainless steel.
You will have the opportunity to gain further competencies during your 4-year term, including elevated work platform licences.

Lead by example and actively contribute to functional and site schedules, goals, and objectives Demonstrate effective and diligent execution of planned projects, ensuring timely completion Show a proactive willingness to undertake training and attend TAFE Work efficiently to minimize downtime Adhere to the company's safety and quality policies and procedures About You Commitment to completing 4 years of relevant training for Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
Aptitude for the mechanical trade.
A positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn.
Ability to stay focused on tasks and follow instructions effectively.
