About the Opportunity: As part of EnergyAustralia's Security Team the Application Security Engineer will be embedded within projects with a DevSecOps paradigm to ensure security threats are identified, tracked, and controlled within these teams - this will require an understanding of both modern software development and security vulnerabilities. Responsibilities include:
Ensure the implementation of key security controls leveraging security testing methodologies and automated test cases Design, implement, and maintain security measures throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including code review, vulnerability assessments, build reviews and penetration testing. Develop and maintain security automation scripts and tools to streamline security testing and ensure consistent application of security controls. Provide guidance and internal training to EA development teams on secure coding practices, security configuration and secure deployment methodologies with the aim to improve overall security standards Improve the understanding of security standards, best practices and controls within EA technology and security teams, particularly as they apply to security automation and DevOps About You: This role will be crucial in ensuring EnergyAustralia's application security by providing guidance and support, along with identifying and resolving security issues as they arise. Additionally:
A recognised university degree in engineering, computer science or related fields, or equivalent experience Experience in a Penetration Testing environment or manual testing environment Experience in developer-centric teams with a good understanding of DevOps tools and practices A Solid grasp of Cloud environments with demonstrated previous experience working with cloud orchestration tools for system provisioning and deployment Proficiency in scripting languages for automation of deployment and security testing; Strong understanding of network and infrastructure security principles; Previous work experience involving penetration testing and/or secure code automation is preferred but not required.
