AO2 Administration Officer position available in Rockhampton

An exciting opportunity to join a Queensland State Government Department, who are responsible for administering safety and health legislation across Queensland.
They are seeking an experienced AO2 Administration Officer on a full-time temporary contract, based in Rockhampton until 31st January 2025, with possible extension.
Your new role
As the Administration Officer, you will provide a range of quality administrative and operational services in support of the team.
You will be a confident individual who displays the ability to operate and thrive in a multitasking environment, to achieve team objectives.
Support the administrative operations of the work unit, including the collection and collation of information, data entry, photocopying, spreadsheets, word processing, record keeping and filing.
Coordinate travel and accommodation requirements for the team, including arrangements for conferences.
Maintaining database information including review of mine site reports and ensuring timely and accurate solutions.
Administering financial processes including procurement, ordering, payments of accounts, reconciliation and monitoring of monthly finance reports.
Respond to verbal or written enquiries, ensuring that correspondence is handled promptly and that sensitive and/or confidential matters are dealt with appropriately.
Operate and maintain the business unit's assets such as photocopiers and scanners.
Work with other administration officers to provide effective and timely services and support to the team, including maintaining and developing procedures and systems.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be:
Demonstrated office administration skills, including the ability to prepare spreadsheets, word processing and database applications.
Sound communication (oral and written), interpersonal and liaison skills and the ability to provide a professional approach in dealing with staff and stakeholders.
Work closely with other support and administrative staff to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
Confident with Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
