Agriculture is booming and ALTSA is at the heart of it all.ALTSA: Soil & Plant LabDue to growing demand, we have a vacancy for an Analytical Chemist in our Soil & Plant lab.About the roleReporting to the S&P Lab Manager, your duties would include but not be limited to:Sample receipt, preparation and testing.Operation of the ICP-OES, ICP-MS, CNS or other equipment as required.Generate test results within customers' expected turnaround times.Calibration and maintenance of equipment.Perform maintenance and calibrations of instruments under supervision.Maintain consumables inventory and perform housekeeping tasks.Assist in maintaining and extending test accreditations for NATA & ASPAC.Benefits and perksRemuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidate based on experience and qualifications.Skills and experienceTo be successful in this role you must have:Bachelor of Science.General computer skills and good communication.Ideally be competent in operating an ICP OES, ICP MS or CNS.Ability to:Work to a high standard of speed and accuracy.Manage time effectively, identify and solve problems, prioritise tasks and workload.Work reliably with minimal supervision and in a team environment.Well regarded:Bachelor of Science with preferably a major in Chemistry.Prior experience in a commercial lab environment.Prior experience in the agricultural industry or environmental related area.
