Advisor Vessel Safety - AMSA Level 6 $120,188 - $140,170 + 15.4% super Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, and other AMSA locations will be considered Full-time, 12 months, non-ongoing Join a dynamic team ensuring the safety and sustainability of Australia's maritime sectorWork across emerging domestic and global maritime issuesABOUT THE ROLE The Advisor Vessel Safety will be responsible for providing high-level technical maritime advice to support and contribute to AMSA's safety goals, objectives, and challenges.
This role involves preparing advice, presentations, and written briefings to inform policy decisions and their implementation.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and sound judgment to assess international, national, and political issues that may impact ship safety and environmental protection.
Additionally, they will support the development and maintenance of AMSA's policy and regulatory framework for Australia's domestic commercial vessel fleet, ensuring it aligns with the latest standards.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.Strong judgment with the ability to resolve complex issues and consistently deliver high-quality results within deadlines.Demonstrated expertise in delivering projects through effective planning, coordination, and control methods.Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex concepts and develop well-considered options.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences.Understanding of, or ability to quickly gain an understanding of, maritime policy, regulatory frameworks, and related standards.The following skills and experience are not pre-requisites, but would be considered an advantage:
