Council has a large workforce delivering over 100 services to a vibrant and growing community.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will report directly to the CEO and work collaboratively to provide leadership both across the organisation and within the P&C function. The role has three direct reports, with the People and Culture team operating across the portfolios of People and Culture – OHS, People and Partnerships, Payroll, Return to Work and Talent Acquisition, and Organisational Capability – Learning and Development and Organisation Development.
You will support the organisation through an unwavering commitment to driving change, performance and accountability underpinned by your championing of the organisation's values whilst demonstrating a high level of professionalism and leading by example at all times. With a clear bias for action, you will be comfortable both in the strategic and operational requirements of the role and know how to build robust internal business partnerships across diverse portfolios.
Key Responsibilities: Execute the P&C strategy to support Council's vision of being a leader in achieving social, environmental and economic outcomes for the Hume community. Be a trusted adviser to the CEO and the executive leadership team. Bring a track record of delivering a clear People and Culture value proposition within complex organisations. Capability & Experience: Demonstrated senior leadership experience of a People and Culture function in a mid-sized to large complex organisation, consisting of a diverse workforce. A track record of building high performing teams that are aligned, engaged, and collaborative, including leading change, while also contributing to broader organisational leadership and culture. Demonstrated skills and experience in leading cultural change, service and process improvements. An ability to operate both strategically and operationally across People & Culture and more broadly the organisation. Tertiary qualifications in a related field.
