About the Role We are seeking a proactive and strategic AML/CTF AFSL Compliance Lead to oversee EnergyAustralia's compliance with AML/CTF and AFSL regulatory requirements.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and execution of compliance policies and programmes, act as the primary liaison with AUSTRAC and ASIC, and manage the organisation's response to regulatory changes and obligations.
As a trusted compliance leader, you will collaborate across the business to embed robust governance practices, drive capability building, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Your work will ensure EnergyAustralia maintains compliance integrity while supporting its transformation goals.
Key responsibilities include: Develop and maintain AML/CTF and ASFL compliance policies, frameworks, and programmes.Act as the primary liaison with AUSTRAC and ASIC (ASFL), managing regulatory communications and responses.Monitor and embed regulatory changes into business operations, providing actionable insights.Establish robust governance structures to oversee compliance activities, licences, and certifications.Lead compliance training and capability-building programmes to enhance organisational awareness.Drive continuous improvement by analysing compliance data, incidents, and trends, implementing preventative measures.Manage compliance breach reporting and conduct root cause analyses to minimise risks.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to embed compliance practices and foster strong regulatory relationships.Provide regular reporting on compliance performance, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.How can you support the Clean Energy Transition Tertiary qualifications in business, law, compliance, or a related field.5+ years' experience in regulatory compliance or risk management, preferably in the energy or a similarly regulated sector.Expertise in AML/CTF laws, ASFL regulations, and governance frameworks, with a proven ability to design and implement compliance programmes.Strong understanding of regulatory change management and integration into business operations.Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate complex regulatory requirements to diverse stakeholders.Experience in responding to regulatory requests, audits, and implementing remediation plans.Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation.Relevant certifications such as CAMS or Financial Crime Compliance qualifications (desirable).If you share our passion for a clean energy future for all and want to join us #Doing.
