The Ambulance Transport Officer (ATO) at St John Ambulance (WA) is committed to the superior delivery of patient transport services.
In WA, approximately 70 per cent of calls received require non-emergency patient transport.
Patient Transfer is a varied service with specialised transport officers that respond to non-emergency patients via pre-booked and on-demand calls.
We work in the public and private sectors, in partnership with local hospitals, medical centres and care facilities, as well as the general public.
We provide a reliable, professional service offering a full range of transport options in a variety of fleet vehicles for non-ambulant passengers with low acuity medical requirements.
This role will expose you to a wide variety of people and health care scenarios.
What you'll do: As a Country Ambulance Transport Officer (ATO) you will be required to provide routine care and transportation for non-emergency patients to and from healthcare facilities, clinics and private residences.
There are occasions where you will be called upon attend emergency situations and transfers, which will require you to upgrade to your EMT scope of practice, if you don't already have it, in order to provide a high level of care to your patient.
What you'll need: EMT scope of practise (preferred) Country Ambulance Transport Officer experience (preferred) Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Demonstrated experience in providing excellent patient care Ability to display exceptional customer service Ability to adapt to a changing environment Uphold St John WA values, policies, systems and procedures Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to work across both internal and external stakeholders Essential Requirements Must be an active St John WA Volunteer Ambulance Officer with a current Country Ambulance EMA or EMT scope of practice, or currently working in the Country ATO role.
