Significant value is placed on Girls Grammar's heritage and the Alumni Officer will be responsible for engaging with the School's Old Girl Association and encouraging a continued connection with the School and current students.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES SUMMARYUphold Rockhampton Girls Grammar School's position as the leading all-girls Prep to Year 12 independent day and boarding school in Regional Queensland.Plan, organise, and execute Rockhampton Girls Grammar School alumni events scheduled throughout the year.Assist the Old Girls Association (OGA) in the planning, organising and execution of OGA hosted events.Build and maintain positive and proactive relationships with alumni through effective communication and engagement.Source and promote news and achievements of alumni through various communications and social media platforms.Maintain and improve current database records including an alumni register of past students (The Alpha School System "TASS" Past Students).Manage and update the Rockhampton Girls Grammar School alumni and Old Girls social media pages.Liaise with the Principal and Business Manager regarding budget items for proposed and planned Alumni events (Hall of Fame, Beef Week, etc.).Plan and execute alumni engagement activities and events including school tours and reunions, in collaboration with events, kitchen, facilities, grounds and maintenance staff.Represent alumni at School events to foster and maintain connections with current students and families to strengthen student engagement post-graduation.Actively engage and assist in fundraising efforts for the School Building Fund.Source and recommend suitable alumni as guests and/or guest speakers for School events (Investiture Ceremonies, Foundation Day, Long Lunch, Speech Night).Encourage Old Girls participation at all Rockhampton Girls Grammar School events, including Long Lunch, Foundation Day, Bulls 'n' Barrels, Mother's Day Twilight Soiree.Respond to past student enquiries and ancestor research and communicate where necessary.Develop alumni-related marketing material for the School in collaboration with the Marketing and Events Manager, including alumni profiles, communications and social media updates to ensure consistency with style and branding.In consultation with Year 12 Care Mentors, educate current seniors about the Old Girls Association and relevant connections prior to graduation.Contribute to school publications such as newsletters, Connection and Kampala Magazines.Oversee Museum and Old Girl volunteers in maintaining Girls Grammar archives.Maintain Museum displays with a view to update at least one cabinet on a biennial basis and add to existing cabinets as new donated material is accessioned.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEA background in a school or education environment.Well-developed oral and written communication skills.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and work as part of a team.Proficiency in the Microsoft Office and design software.Strong self-awareness, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.Ability to prioritise workload, work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.Strong attention to detail.Flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.Knowledge of the TASS database.ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIESUnderstanding of and commitment to the philosophies of Rockhampton Girls Grammar School.A thorough understanding/experience including high-level proficiency with online databases, online survey tools, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and email applications).Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills to liaise with staff, students, parents and the public generally.Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.Experience using social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) in order to manage alumni social media in collaboration with the Marketing and Events team.A strong understanding of customer service principles and attention to detail.A proven ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.MANDATORY REQUIREMENTSApplicants must hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).All applicants will be subject to Rockhampton Girls Grammar School legislative screening procedures and will be required to authorise such checks and provide identification.
