The Environmental Division in Springvale is looking for a new staff member for a Sample Receipt Officer role to join a well-established team. This role is primarily focused on incoming and outgoing goods to support the success and efficiency of our commercial laboratory.
This is a full-time role, Tue-Sat working 11:00am-7:15pm.
This is a fast-paced and varied role that will see you unpacking and sorting with accuracy.
The day to day Receive clients' deliveries and confirm samples meet the testing requirements. Process incoming sample deliveries into the laboratory including the sorting and labelling of samples. Read and understand client Chain of Custody (CoC) documentation. Log samples in the LIMS system with accuracy. Organise and follow up of freight pick-ups for internal and interstate samples. Liaise with clients (internal and external) regarding sample submissions. Help manage shared mailbox relevant to sample area. Maintain filing systems and documentation. Perform general housekeeping duties. Maintain an excellent standard of occupational health and safety. The Essentials: A positive, responsive customer focus and quality service attitude with a professional demeanor. Superior attention to detail and a commitment to complete high-quality work. Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite; experience with a LIMS system would be beneficial. Ability to process multiple concurrent requests efficiently and accurately. An understanding of laboratory safety and chemical hazards. Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills. Ability to absorb and retain high levels of information.
