ABOUT THE ROLE The Rural Health Team provides a range of allied health services and activities to support people of all ages and abilities to be healthy, active and independent.
The Active Rural Communities (ARC) program is a social support program within the Rural Health Team that aims to enhance social engagement, participation, and access to other supports and services via a range of exercise and social groups.
This position will involve delivering flexible and timely Allied Health Assistant services/programs focusing on building and/or maintaining independence and social inclusion, as part of ARC and the broader multidisciplinary Rural Health Team.
Day to Day duties Completing administrative tasks such as emails, answering and directing enquiries, rostering, scheduling, file audits and record keeping.
Engage clients and providers and develop trusting and professional relationships with them.
Liaising with staff, leadership team and relevant stakeholders.
Scheduling meetings and diary management.
Undertaking administrative tasks related to delivery of Aged Care and Disability as required.
Administration assistance as required.
These programs are underpinned by wellness and reablement principles and operate under a social model of health.
Allied Health Assistants work under the supervision and are accountable to Allied Health professionals to deliver group or 1:1 home or centred based support to clients.
ABOUT YOU Impeccable attention to detail is extremely important for this role, as well the ability to prioritise and multitask.
In addition, you have a cheerful and proactive attitude, and a friendly, professional telephone manner.
You possess the ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
The successful applicant will be someone who meets the following criteria: Cert IV Allied Health Assistance certificate or equivalent Demonstrated competency in the delivery of both individual support programs and group therapy programs as delegated by an Allied Health Professional.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including computer literacy.
Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity of barriers experienced by frail older people, people living with chronic disease, people with disabilities and their carers living in rural areas.
