Follow the link to find out what its like to live, work and play in our wonderful region: Greater Shepparton: Great Things Happen Here About the role: An opportunity exists for an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) in the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service, Goulburn Valley (VPRS-GV).
VPRS-GV is a specialist assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents who, as a result of injury, medical/surgical intervention or functional impairment, will benefit from a program of developmentally appropriate, time-limited, goal-focused, multidisciplinary rehabilitation.
The AHA will work as part of the multidisciplinary team.
The role involves completing a variety of direct and indirect clinical and administrative tasks under the direction of allied health professionals.
The AHA may assist a client to complete an exercise program or activity of daily living, assist with facilitating a group program, order, clean and manage delivery of equipment, assist with the management of new referrals and coordination of multidisciplinary clinics.
This is a 12 hours/fortnight position which can be worked flexibly across the week- please contact manager to discuss.
The successful applicant will have: Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance from a registered training organisation OR equivalent qualification, which may include: Higher qualification in a relevant health science discipline at Diploma or Associate Diploma level; Certificate level qualification in a relevant health-related field; Overseas-trained Allied Health practitioner with a qualification at Diploma level or higher; Allied Health undergraduate student (in a relevant health science discipline) successfully completed one year of study at minimum.
Completion of a minimum of 80 hours of clinical placement experience Experience working as an Allied Health Assistant in either a hospital, aged care or community setting Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients and families Ability to work independently (with guidance) with minimal supervision Position Description: HERE If qualifications are a requirement for this position, please attach a copy in support of your application.
