Alcohol and Other Drugs Senior Counsellor (527425) Department of Health Community, Mental Health & Wellbeing CMHW - MH & Statewide Services Applications must be submitted by Thursday 18 April, 2024 11:55 PM Thursday 18 April, 2024 11:55 PM AEST Award/Classification: Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement, Allied Health Professional, Level 3 $106,966 to $123,013 per annum Employment type: Full Time Region: North Location: 13 Mulgrave Street, Launceston Department of Health are seeking passionate & driven Alcohol & Other Drugs Senior Counsellor to join the Mental Health Services Team in North. The role: Deliver a high quality alcohol and other drug treatment service in accordance with relevant Government Legislation and Regulations, Primary Health Care Principles, reforms, Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS) policies, procedures and protocols and relevant professional competencies. Provide a specialist assessment and treatment service for people with multiple and complex needs, including co-morbid alcohol and other drugs and mental health issues, in accordance with discipline specific skills and abilities. Act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with alcohol and other drug needs and promote community awareness in relation to alcohol and other drugs. Actively support, contribute to and participate in ongoing quality assurance programs, including approved research, incident reporting and evaluation, internal audits, and policy and procedure review, as well as the development, implementation and evaluation of specialised alcohol and other drug psychosocial treatment programs. Details of Appointment Fixed term full time, day workerposition working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 31 January 2025. *notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Salary: $106,966 - $123,013per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme Salary range is in accordance withAllied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022 Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia Current Working with Children Registration *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
