Aviation Services (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Add expected salary to your profile for insights We currently have a position vacant for a Part Time Airport Supervisor at Cairns Airport QLD.The core purpose of the Supervisor role is to lead a team in their respective areas, whilst supporting business continuity. Collectively this involves maximising performance and culture across the areas of safety, efficiency and reliability and continuously exceeding the service delivery expectations of Aus Flight Handling clients (airlines) and their customers. With a focus on continuous development and improvement initiatives in business and operational performance, you will also build and maintain strong teams ensuring our employees feel valued, recognised and engaged.Support the Airport Manager in the day to day running of the Airport and being able to step up when required to ensure continuity of the business under the Managers direction.Full training will be provided for the right candidate.Main ResponsibilitiesSafetyProvide OH&S supervision and guidanceLead a team to deliver best safety outcomesEnsure policies/procedures are adhered to in accordance with airline policies and regulatory requirementsContribute to a safe workplace environment and submit safety reports when requiredEnsure safety related routines such as daily checks on Ground Servicing Equipment are completed whilst on shiftEnsure safety/incident reporting both internally & to Airlines is completed within 24 hours.Ensure all Aus flight and Airline Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all timesReport all safety occurrences to the Airport Manager in a timely manner.OperationalDemonstrate decision making and organisational skills to efficiently meet performance requirements and maintain schedule and operational integrity for our clientsMaintain an exceptional standard of service to all passengers for all our clientsEnsure smooth running of our day-to-day operations with a proactive and pre-emptive approachManage and assist with disruptions and delays whilst on shift in collaboration with Airport ManagerManage and escalate any notifiable incidents whilst on shift to Airport ManagerEnsure the team achieves defined key performance criteria including but not limited to on-time performance, mishandled baggage, revenue collection, service, precision timings and complianceProactively identify operational weaknesses and recommend corrective actionsEnsure accuracy of shift times for the team on the day of operation with comments added for any overtime or amendments approvedSupport and/or facilitate airline specific training and maintain accuracy of training recordsPrepare company and client defined reports and administrative functionsAssist with operational duties.Leadership & CultureLead a culture that values equality, fairness, and transparency, and zero tolerance for bullying, discrimination and harassmentCoach and develop team and uphold staff disciplines and adherence to AFH, client and regulatory procedures and policiesConduct observations and appraisals of the team and individual's performanceHandling of escalated staff grievances, complaints, discipline whilst on shift and reporting to Airport ManagerMaintain effective open communication with all internal and external key stake holders.What we will need from you:Fluent in spoken English;Reliable transport to and from Cairns Airport;Punctual, reliable and with excellent time management;Current Full State Drivers Licence;Physically fit – able to lift 32kgs;Able to obtain an ASIC (requires a federal police background check);Willing and able to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays.Aus Flight Handling is a leading provider of ground and air cargo services, with a workforce of approximately 380 people, handling over 900 flights per week at eighteen airports across Australia. We strive to operate with the core values of People, Professionalism, and Partnership in all that we undertake.
