Ongoing Flinders Medical Centre RAP Division are looking for their next Speech Pathologist to join their busy and rewarding team.
The OPAL/RCOT Ward is a 26 bed ward staffed by a team from Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care Division at Flinders Medical Centre for a cohort of patients who have acute Geriatric syndromes and require admission to hospital due to an acute medical condition.
The primary focus of the OPAL/RCOT ward is to provide an efficient, coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to high quality, streamlined care for our patients who are living with vulnerability due to Geriatric Syndromes.
Learn more about the Ward on our .About the Role:We are looking for an Acute skilled AHP2 Speech Pathologist, who is looking to expand their career in Rehabilitation, Aged, and Palliative Care.
Your key responsibilities as the Speech Pathologist within the Division of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care (RAP) include: Conduct safe and effective Speech Pathology assessments and treatments within the Division;Manage caseload efficiently, prioritising patient care;Collaborate with healthcare professionals for coordinated patient care; andFacilitate patient discharge and community links.
About you: An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Association of Australia.Demonstrated ability to assess adult patients with swallowing and communication problems and determine appropriate management and advice.
Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently.Experience in supervising assistants and students.
