The Organisation The AH-64E Boeing Apache helicopter has been selected for the Australian Army and will be coming into service soon, joining our current Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) supported rotary wing fleet of Chinook medium lift and EC-135 training helicopters. BDA supports these inspiring programs with Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, System Safety, and Management skills. BDA is looking for personnel to support this exciting opportunity.
This position will commence April 2025 and will be based at Enoggera, Brisbane, QLD.
BDA provides a range of design, modification, production, repair, and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence's aircraft fleets. We work hand-in-hand with our customers to develop and deliver critical capabilities to support their mission now and into the future.
About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Repairable Item Manager to support the AH-64E Apache helicopter and partner fleets. As a skilled supply chain specialist, you will apply your knowledge and experience to provide the following services for the Apache fleet:
Manage assigned repairable assets through contracted authorised repair agenciesMaintain assigned level of stock availabilityEnact Commonwealth issued financial delegations in order to maintain assigned assets (authorise repairs)Manage Repairable Items supplier/subcontractor business relationships, in-service requirements, and performance to contractual obligations and expectationsIdentify and communicate potential risks and issuesMaintain logistics information management system integrityGather and review data for use in supplier performance evaluationsProvide support in the development of mitigation plansBe an integral part of the Apache capabilityAbout You To be successful in this role you will have:
Demonstrated 2 years + experience in Repairable Item managementDemonstrated 5 years + experience in Defence supply chains, Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience is desirableWell-developed written and oral communication and negotiation skills to facilitate open interaction between logistics and provisioning agencies and key internal and external stakeholdersThe ability to work with a high level of autonomy in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated experience in identifying, establishing, and promoting supply process improvements at the project levelKnowledge of exporting/importing practices and regulationsAn understanding of airworthiness standardsPlease outline in your application your experience and current proficiencies/accesses in Defence logistics management systems. Applicants must be able to meet Defence security and ITAR requirements. This position requires a Baseline Security Clearance.
