Rombola Family Farms encompasses over 4,000 hectares of intensive irrigated horticultural production at Griffith (NSW), Bundaberg (QLD) and Mataranka (NT). Agricultural enterprises include Seedless Watermelon, Rockmelons, Broccoli, Pumpkin, Almonds and Winegrapes. Operations include primary production, processing, value adding and marketing.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Agricultural Technician to join our team in Griffith, NSW.
The Agricultural Technician performs tests and experiments and provides technical support to Rombola Family Farms in areas such as production and research. The position requires a hands-on approach in the field and keeping data in the systems.
Key accountabilities include: Examining farm field topographical, physical and soil characteristics to determine its most effective use and identify nutrient deficiencies. Assisting in developing new methods of planting, fertilising, harvesting, and processing crops to achieve optimum land usage. Identifying pathogenic micro-organisms and insects, parasites, fungi, and weeds harmful to crops, and assisting in devising methods of control. Analysing produce to set and maintain standards of quality. Assisting in controlled breeding experiments to develop improved crops. Assisting in arranging the supply of chemicals and giving advice on their use. Collecting and collating data for research. Assisting in planning harvesting and other aspects of production processes. Assisting in assigning tasks to personnel. Voicing concerns to the manager. Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. To be successful in the role you will possess the following: At least three years of related experience and formal qualification in agricultural science or technology is essential. Knowledge of manual and/or computerised systems. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Excellent attention to detail. Initiative and integrity. Team player.
