Reporting to the Chef and working closely with our residents, colleagues, and Dietician, this role is responsible for ensuring that our residents' meals are prepared to the highest standard and quality.
Duties include meal preparation and cooking in line with menus set by our Dietician, ordering stock, overseeing kitchenhand staff, and ensuring that the kitchen is clean and in excellent working order.
You will also be responsible for filling in when the Chef is on leave and will be responsible for ordering and leading the team during these periods.
We are seeking a person who takes pride in their work and in their kitchen, operates safely, effectively, and efficiently, and has the ability to communicate respectfully with colleagues and with older people.
To succeed in this role, you will have:1 – 3 years' experience working in a similar role in an aged care settingStrong verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a small teamHigh regard and respect for our residents and the ability to listen and meet their varied needs in relation to mealsUnderstanding of and commitment to WHS requirementsWorking knowledge of Food Hygiene and Safety GuidelinesCertificate III in Commercial CookeryApply online today.
