Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development)
A local family is looking for support workers with an interest in working with a young person within the family home. You may have worked in the childcare, health, education setting or have a lived experience of supporting a family member.
If you have capacity to work shifts before and after school and extend those hours in the school holidays and over weekends, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
In this role, you will be working 1:1 and guided by a team of allied health professionals to implement programs for a child with disabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and make a positive impact in the life of a child.
Benefits of this role include: Set roster and ongoing shifts.Ongoing training and support from allied health professionals.Working with a young person to improve their quality of life.Responsibilities of the role include: Implementing therapy plans and activities.Providing support and assistance to the child during activities of daily living including personal care.Documenting the child's progress and completing data collection.Maintaining a safe and engaging environment for the child by following all health and safety protocols in place.We are looking for someone who has: Strong attention to detail regarding report writing and data collection.A calm persona and ability to engage with young people.The fitness to keep up with an active young person.A willingness to learn, grow and take up the opportunity to train as a therapy assistant.Can commit to 20 hours a week.Note: the position is based in Port Macquarie, and the ideal candidate must have a driver's license, WWCC, NDISWC, 1st Aid, or be willing to obtain these. Availability for shift work is essential across AM, PM, and active night shifts.
Qualifications: Experience working with children with disabilities is preferred but not essential.A certificate in Individual Support, Disability Support or Aged Care Support is desirable but not essential.NDIS required paperwork or willing to secure these.Individual provider status.Paid in line with the NDIS Schedule Fee for service.
