Business Development Manager (Aged Care Focus) Bare is a venture-backed, direct-to-consumer startup disrupting one of Australia's longest-standing institutions - the funeral industry.
By combining empathy with technology, we're creating end-of-life experiences that are simple, personalized, and affordable. In only four years, we've served more than 30,000 families, have become Australia's most awarded end-of-life provider (with awards in customer service, innovation, and digital disruption), and have built a team of more than 100 people committed to changing the way Australians deal with end-of-life. And we're just getting started.
As part of this mission, we're looking for a hands-on Business Development Manager to join the team and help us scale - and we'd love you to consider joining the mission.
So what is the role, exactly? We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to build relationships and close deals with healthcare professionals - with a focus on aged care - looking to use our suite of healthcare products to support their residents and staff to better navigate end-of-life.
Your day-to-day would involve: Prospecting to aged care and other healthcare services through outbound lead generation, events and networking, cold calling/email, referrals, and more. Building a deep understanding of the pain points and requirements of these businesses, then formulating the right Bare solution to solve these pain points (including working with Bare product and marketing teams where required). Meticulously managing a lead and deal pipeline within the Hubspot Sales Hub with outstanding hygiene and attention to detail. Owning the full sales cycle including planning, cold calling, qualifying, obtaining information, due diligence, and closing new deals. Delivering an exceptional brand impression for Bare's consumer services by adopting a human-first sales approach and using storytelling to align businesses to the Bare vision. Collaborating with your Bare team members across Marketing, Product, and Operations to relay customer feedback. Who are you looking for? We'd love you to have: 2+ years experience in, or working closely with, aged care in a relationship, community, sales, or business development role. Comfort working in ambiguity and without a sales playbook - we're early in our B2B journey and we need you to be able to come along for the ride. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking, negotiating, and collaborating with both senior stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a large volume of tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines. A rare competitive fire and desire to win, with a healthy entrepreneurial spirit. Most importantly, we want someone who believes in our mission. Everyone at Bare is driven by the impact of what we're doing, and we want to ensure that continues with every new hire that joins our team.
Interstate travel may also be required for this role.
What's in it for me? This isn't your ordinary role in your ordinary company. Someone in the marketing team recently described their team as "the best team, with the best manager, I've ever worked with. I just can't believe how much I love it." In addition, we offer:
Great opportunities for personal growth, promotion, and career development. The ability to work from home - with lots of autonomy and flexibility. A friendly, fun, and supportive environment - people love what they do at Bare. A competitive remuneration package (with perks!). The chance to make a real, human impact. The main reason you will join, however, is that you believe in what we do and are excited about truly transforming an industry.
To Apply Please apply with both your CV and a cover letter which addresses the selection criteria above. Due to the volume of applicants, only successful applicants will be contacted.
