Their business is a unique mix of tourism and agriculture spread over a million acres in the red centre of Australia. This is a great opportunity for a single person, couple or a family with the relevant skillset to live and breathe the true outback lifestyle.
Key Duties for the Senior Station Hand role include, but are not limited to: Maintenance and improvement of property facilities and infrastructure Maintenance, servicing, repairs of vehicles, machinery and equipment Operating earthmoving machinery including a bobcat, loader, forklift and grader Cattle drafting and handling utilising low stress methods after water trapping Supporting other aspects of the tourism business when required Key qualities for successful applicants: Be able to work autonomously under management direction Be self-motivated, organised, and efficient Having excellent communication skills Having strong attention to detail Being a competent welder with a strong fabrication skillset Be very mechanically orientated and able to do all necessary maintenance, servicing and repairs You must have a current and valid HC Truck licence You must have a firearms licence or the ability to obtain one You must have your own vehicle Be honest, trustworthy, and reliable with a proven background in the cattle industry This is a full-time permanent position on a renowned family-owned and operated operation. Full meals and board are provided at very reasonable weekly rate for fully furnished accommodation, with options suitable for singles, couples or families. They are fully set up for schooling through SODE, although there is no governess on-site, so children are very welcome. Whilst there is only one role going on the station there is potentially work for a partner in the tourism/hospitality side of the business. This is a very remote part of Australia, however, all basic amenities are available onsite. The next closest stop is Yulara within a 2 hour drive and Alice Springs is within a days drive for all other major amenities.
