The opportunity Are you seeking a career within an intelligence agency where you can contribute and make a difference to the security of Australia? ASIO is seeking applications from experienced and passionate Procurement Officers to fill positions at the AE5 and AE6 levels.
Procurement Officers employ a range of skills, including strategic thinking, negotiation, decision making, financial management and conflict resolution to ensure that relevant money expended on behalf of ASIO are done so in accordance with Commonwealth legislation and Organisational policies.
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position.
This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
Role responsibilities As a Procurement Officer in ASIO, you will: Provide advice on procurement and contract management related matters across the Organisation.
Conduct and support procurements, using best practices and judgment to make decisions on procurement and contract related activities that are fundamental to the day-to-day operations of the agency.
Assist with the preparation and review of written material including reports, contracts and procurement documentation.
Assist with delivery of procurement and contract management training to ASIO staff to build capability and capacity in the line areas, including preparation of policies, guides, templates and procedures.
Assist with the management and administration of procurement and contract management tools, processes, forms, templates and policies.
Promote and implement ASIO Values and business partnering culture.
Undertake other duties as directed.
What you will bring We invite applications from people with the following attributes: Experience in procurement and/or contract management.
Strong client service and communication skills.

A logical mind with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
An ability to work in a team or autonomously.
The ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
An aptitude for procurement or contract management related tasks and the ability to understand and implement procurement regulations, policies and procedures.
The ability to adapt to change and learn quickly in a new environment.
Working knowledge of the PGPA Act 2013 and Commonwealth Procurement Rules or the ability to gain this knowledge quickly.
A certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting or equivalent on commencement or shortly thereafter.

Location These positions are located in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Relocation assistance is provided to successful candidates where ASIO requires you to relocate.
