This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the PM&C delegate.
Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years.

Flexible Work:
At PM&C we recognise the broad benefits of offering flexibility in how, when and where work is performed. We consider flexibility first from a starting position of 'how can we make this work?' and consider individual circumstances and operational requirements in making genuine attempts to establish mutually beneficial arrangements. Please reach out to the contact officer if you would like to explore what flexibility might look like for you, such as part time work, variable start and finish times or working from home.
Who we are:
The Governance, Performance and Audit (GPA) Branch is a small, dynamic and professional team which sits within the Corporate Division. GPA is responsible for PM&C's internal governance arrangements, this includes: managing the annual audit program; secretariat support to the department's governance committees; coordination of operational and strategic planning (Corporate Plan, Annual Report, Business Plans); preparation of the Risk Management Framework, Fraud Control Plan, fraud and corruption control and investigations, complaints handling, and managing the Integrity Framework. We have extensive reach across the department and work closely with the senior executive.
What you will do:
We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented candidates with excellent communication skills to fill several roles. The roles will work across the department to provide advice and support, together with branch colleagues, on a range of integrity, performance reporting, business planning and external audit matters.
You will be part of a small team to:
Foster and sustain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, providing high quality advice and managing the resolution of issues.
Handle sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality and modelling ethical behaviour and practices consistent with the APS Code of Conduct and APS Values.
Prepare various briefing materials to the Executive.
Other duties as required in consultation with the Director and Assistant Secretary, Governance, Performance and Audit.
Integrity-specific duties:
Coordinate the review of PM&C's Integrity Framework and related policies and developing supporting work plans.
Provide advice on integrity related risks, policies and processes and business improvement initiatives to support a culture of high integrity.
Review and update PM&C's Conflict of Interest Policy and associated processes and provide advice relating to conflicts of interest.
Annual Performance Statements-specific duties:
Coordinate and facilitate engagement between the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) and the department, including scheduling meetings and managing information requests.
Support business areas during audit activity, including through the provision of high-quality advice.
Support the coordination of division business plans and review.
Undertake assurance activities to support PM&C's performance reporting, including opportunities for continuous improvement.
Organisational Performance-specific duties:
Coordinate divisional/group input for corporate reporting requirements for the annual report and corporate plan.
Engage with divisions across the department to support performance reporting requirements, including preparation of the Annual Performance Statement and continuous improvement in performance reporting.
Support and coordinate the department's emissions reporting requirements and implementation of APS Net Zero.
What you will bring:
You will demonstrate the ability to contribute to a high performing small team in a time critical environment, manage competing priorities and demonstrate a flexible approach.
Given the nature of the roles and exposure to sensitive conversations and information, you will possess sound judgement, discretion and strong attention to detail.
You will be committed to working collaboratively across the department to drive results, have a good understanding of the importance of the department's purpose and values, and a proven track record in supporting senior leaders.
Relevant experience in a similar role will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:
Sound judgement, discretion and attention to detail.
Strategic thinking and the ability to identify emerging issues.
Highly developed written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise advice and correspondence.
Excellent verbal communication, liaison and stakeholder engagement skills.
Prior experience working with senior executives is desirable but not essential.
Resilience and ability to perform in a rapidly changing environment and under pressure.
High-level skills in record keeping and building associated systems to ensure retention of corporate knowledge.
Ability to work independently, using self-initiative and drive.
Eligibility:
Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999 , employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing.
