These offices are seeking an experienced policy adviser, with portfolio responsibilities to be determined depending on applicant's skills and experience.
Chief Minister stream responsibilitiesEconomic DevelopmentTourism and TradeHomes, Homelessness and New SuburbsHealthManager of Government BusinessCity and Government Services (including Infrastructure Delivery, and Parks and Conservation Service)Business, Arts and Creative IndustriesChildren, Youth and FamiliesSkills, Training and Industrial RelationsKey responsibilities of the role include:
Providing advice, briefings, speeches, and other outputs for the Minister as requiredDeveloping strong stakeholder relationships in the business portfolioConstituent and community engagement and supportResearching, analysing, and reviewing policy issues and proposals and assisting the Minister with issues managementWorking closely across the team to support and provide input into longer term planning, strategy development and policy review for the MinisterWorking collaboratively with other Ministerial offices and the ACT public service to support policy development and delivery of ACT Government prioritiesContributing to a positive and inclusive work environment and culture where all staff are valued and respectedWe are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Applicants will need to demonstrate Excellent communication and relationship skillsResearch, analytical and problem-solving skillsAdministrative and organisational skillsCapacity to work independently and as part of a small team, and manage competing prioritiesExperience or understanding of parliamentary systems, and/or the ACT political system is highly desirable.
Note: The role is for the term of the current government and is an Adviser Level 2 position with a salary of $110,708 - $121,533 plus 7% allowance and superannuation.
The successful candidate will be engaged under a Legislative Assembly Members' Staff contract, and other terms and conditions of employment are governed by the ACT Legislative Assembly Members' Staff Enterprise Agreement 2023 - 2026.
It is not an ACT Public Service position.
