The office of Dr Daniel Mulino is seeking applications for a full-time ongoing Adviser, based in the Fraser Electorate Office in Sunshine, Victoria.
About the position This position would support the Member with co-ordinating the completion of electorate office work across staff members, parliamentary work and media engagements.
The media advice would include electronic media (TV and radio interviews), local print media, the preparation of some social media material and, on occasion, longer form op-eds or articles.
The role would involve travel within the electorate and some interstate travel (e.g.
to parliamentary sitting weeks).
The role could involve irregular work hours, particularly during sitting weeks.

The key duties of the position are, but are not limited to: Co-ordination of workflow within the office, which would include allocating and monitoring the completion of work for constituents and in relation to local policy matters.Assisting the Member with media engagements including the preparation of briefings before media appearances and written material such as media releases, articles and op-eds.Producing content for social media.Engaging with stakeholders, including on relevant policy matters and in relation to local issues.Providing high quality strategic and policy advice in relation to matters arising on Committees and inquiries in which the Member is involved, particularly any policy Committees that the Member chairs.Interstate and intrastate travel as required.
Other duties as required.The ideal applicant should possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience: Academic qualifications in relevant disciplines such as public policy, journalism, economics, law, or graphic design (preferred but not required).Work experience in political offices (preferred but not required).Ability to engage and communicate with a broad range of people.Ability to work as part of a team.Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks in a fast-paced working environment.Employment conditions The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-2027 which include:
A commencing salary between $74,095 and $86,506 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.An additional optional allowance of up to $31,320 may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work.Relocation assistance, studies assistance and paid study leave may also be available (subject to eligibility requirements).An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.Additional Information An initial probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension.
