This is a 12-month role working as part of the accredited Advanced Trainee (General Medicine) traineeship program. We will consider people looking for full time or part time employment.
In this role you will provide effective clinical management of patients under appropriate supervision including patient assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment plans while maintaining adequate medical records and confidentiality. You will develop expertise in medical practice, quality assurance and will participate in medical education and supervision of junior team members. This includes supervised general medical management of patients admitted to the specialty of General Medicine and the Medical Assessment Unit, providing consultation to other departments and managing outpatients as needed.

Who we are looking for: The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to General Medicine, excellent written and oral communication skills, and actively engage in teaching and quality assurance activities.
Only applicants in one of the following categories are eligible to apply: Advanced trainees wishing to complete General Medicine or Dual Training; orTrainees who are eligible for top-up training in General Medicine following RACP assessment.Additionally, the following are essential requirements: You'll have full Australian Working RightsYou'll be an AHPRA Registered Medical PractitionerYou'll have MBBS or equivalent with at least 2 years post graduate experienceYou'll have demonstrated high level independent clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly.You'll have previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.You'll have a proven commitment to General and Acute Care Medicine Advanced Training program including education, research and training.You'll have the demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teamYou'll have proven competency in clinical skills including effective assessment, care planning, care provision, case management and management of clinical emergencies.What to expect
Successful candidates will be required to complete a range of pre-employment checks and assessments. These vary and could include professional references, a national police check, working with children check, vaccination evidence, among others.
