Melba Support Services are actively recruiting for a 2IC DDSO2A to join our team on a Permanent Part time basis in Sale.
This role is a 2iC role, required to:
As part of our team in Gippsland, you will work alongside the House Supervisor implementing quality services to the people we support and guide, mentor and support the staff. You will work alongside people we support, their families/guardians and staff to ensure that the people we support receive the highest level of care.
You will work with an incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and committed House Supervisor who is there to support you.
You will: Assist the House Supervisor with the operations of the Supported Independent Living service with regular reporting to the Operations Manager. Manage all aspects of team performance including rosters, performance management, records management, quality, and compliance. Lead and plan support for people with disabilities within their home and community, based on the goals of individual support plans. Support initiatives that allow for individual choice, control and independence within their shared home environment. Advocate within the broader community for inclusion, participation, and respect for rights for supported people. Convey information to people we support and their families to help meet daily needs and plan support for future requirements. Administer medication treatments, therapies or seek assistance according to protocols. This is a Supported Independent Living house for 5 adults with high supports. This home is a sleepover model with a ratio of three staff and a rotating fortnightly roster. All individuals at this home have specific health needs - manual handling, Stoma care, epilepsy, mealtime management and require support with behaviour of concerns. Community access to the local area is important for the people who live in this home, activities like swimming, going to the parks, eating out, going for walks, going to theatre/shows at the Wedge, spending time with family and Gardening. Requirements: Must hold or be working towards an Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or equivalent qualification. Experience and knowledge in the field of disability and ability to apply policies and processes. Specialised and contemporary understanding of disability and an ability to apply this theoretical knowledge to client support. Understanding and familiarity with NDIS funding and planning processes. Understanding of person-centred active support, positive behaviour support and its implementation within a diverse team. Passionate about supporting people with mental health and intellectual disability. Knowledge of and skill with coaching, supervision, and planning practices. Competencies using Microsoft Office software programs. NDIS worker screening Check. Working With Children Check. Current unrestricted Australian Driver's License. COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate - 3 doses. Current First Aid and CPR certification.
