About the role The Collection Management Branch is responsible for transferring, storing, preserving and digitising the National Archives' collection so it remains accessible for future generations. The Branch develops policies and standards as well as provides services, undertakes research, and implements projects to ensure the care, management and accessibility of archival records. The Branch is also responsible for identifying information management requirements for Australian Government agencies to ensure Australian Government information assets (data, information and records) are created, collected and managed effectively.
The Government Information Policy and Standards Section is responsible for strategic initiatives, information and metadata standards in relation to Australian Government information assets. We create and promote best practice to be used by Australian Government agencies through the project delivery for the Building trust in the public record policy. This position would suit someone with a level of experience in administrative processes that support business activities of a team.
Under supervision, the main duties of the role are to:
Provide administrative support to help the team deliver projects and business-as-usual tasks as outlined in our annual section plan.Undertake research to analyse and monitor the national and international information management environment.Set own short-term goals and priorities in line within established section objectives.Contribute ideas to improve the efficiency of workflows. Be flexible and innovative while working as part of the team.Prepare routine documentation and correspondence.Utilise record-keeping business systems and Microsoft Teams in a business environmentHelp solve problems, contribute to and participate in National Archives' change agenda.Apply the principles of APS Values, Code of Conduct, workplace diversity, work health and safety and participative management within a work and team environment.Promote and apply the National Archives' Vision, Mission and Commitments as expressed in Strategy 2030 and "Our Values".Are you eligible? If you are selected, you will be required to successfully undergo a pre-employment check and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Baseline clearance level.
