We now have an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join our team in the Indigenous Education and Research Centre in Cairns.
Full-time and continuing position
Based at the Cairns Nguma-bada campus, Smithfield
HEWL 4: $68,694 - $72,973 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits
This position is identified for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you'll provide essential support to staff, students, and leaders within the Centre, ensuring smooth and efficient processes that reflect our values of excellence, authenticity, integrity, and respect. Your responsibilities will include data entry, responding to enquiries, event support, and meeting coordination. Working both independently and collaboratively within the team, you'll manage tasks with professionalism and efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Sound customer service skills with experience in a high-volume environment managing high numbers of inquiries via phone and email.
Demonstrated ability to carry out routine tasks autonomously and work effectively as part of a team to achieve outcomes.
Routine organisational and time management skills with ability to use informed judgement to prioritise and meet competing deadlines.
Effective written and interpersonal communication skills in dealing with people from a variety of backgrounds with attention to detail.
Experience with relevant Microsoft and other computerised systems and/or databases.
A current Working with Children Blue Card (or have the ability to rapidly obtain).
