The Firearm Prohibition Order Registry (FPOR) is responsible for the management and coordination of all Firearm Prohibition Orders (FPO) in Victoria. A Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) is a discretionary order that can be made by the Chief Commissioner of Police (or their delegate) prohibiting a person from acquiring, possessing, carrying or using any firearm or firearm related item. The Firearm Prohibition Order Registry is also responsible for the training of delegates and investigators state-wide, and the implementation of relevant legislative changes into the organisation.
The Firearm Prohibition Order Registry is seeking a driven and dynamic person to fill the position of Administration Support Officer. The FPOR is a small team based within the Crime Command, Victoria Police. The FPOR reports directly to the Detective Inspector of Tasking and Coordination, Crime Command.

Your duties will include: Coordinating Victoria Police Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) applications.Allocating FPO application to Victoria Police delegates for review and determination.Providing a secretariat service for the transmission of FPOs across Victoria Police.Providing high level reports weekly, monthly and quarterly to the Assistant Commissioner, Crime Command and the Deputy Commissioner, Public Safety and Security.Maintain multiple database/spreadsheets relating to FPO searches, seizures and charges.Manage documents as per legislation and policy.About You: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Demonstrated experience in performing a range of administrative support duties including the preparation of reports and correspondence and basic intelligence collection activities.Well-developed communication skills (written and oral), computer skills (including MS Office Suite) and highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with staff at all levels including senior members of the organisation and external agencies.Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work with minimal supervision.Further Information: This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.
