We specialise in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, through comprehensive inpatient, day patient, and outpatient programs. About the Role:
Townsville Private Clinic is seeking a dedicated and organised Administration Officer to join our Allied Health Administration team. This is a full-time role where you will provide comprehensive, customer-focused service to support both internal and external stakeholders in all administrative functions.
Position Overview: As an Administration Officer at Townsville Private Clinic, you will be integral to maintaining efficient administrative operations within a healthcare environment. You'll provide essential support to our teams, ensuring a smooth patient journey from admission to discharge. This role involves close collaboration with various departments, delivering exceptional service to both patients and staff. With a focus on accuracy and professionalism, you'll contribute to a welcoming and organized atmosphere that upholds our commitment to high-quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate effectively as part of a team to complete daily administrative tasks. Coordinate and confirm patient bookings and hospital transfers, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. Support the admission and discharge process by liaising with departments and ensuring medical records are efficiently handled. Perform health fund checks for pre-admitted patients and ensure understanding of health fund contracts, restrictions, and exclusions. Accurately admit and discharge patients, record patient information, and manage out-of-pocket payments at admission. Handle patient accounts, including pharmacy, pathology, and radiology charges, to ensure accurate billing prior to discharge. Generate Patient Management System reports and conduct audits as required. Assist with daily banking, receipting, and cash drawer reconciliation. Mentor and train new staff in role requirements, supporting their onboarding process. What You'll Bring: Demonstrated experience in clerical duties with strong computer and MS Office skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive, "can do" attitude. High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and time management capabilities. Strong commitment to professional development and quality improvement. Understanding of confidentiality and maintaining patient privacy. Desirable Qualifications: Previous experience in a private hospital setting. Certificate in Medical Terminology. Experience in accounts receivable/payables and patient admissions/discharges. What We Offer:
