Specialist Protective Command is a hybrid (Specialised/Operational) Command within the AFP (Australian Federal Police) and is responsible for establishing national strategy, governance and capabilities whilst also delivering operational outputs within the ACT.
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Administration Officer, within the Protection Model Implementation Team (PMIT) in the Specialist Protective Command (SPC).

The PMIT supports SPC by working with the AFP regional commands to deliver nationally consistent protective security strategies and practice, across SPC operations by:
Coordinating SPC and stakeholder efforts to deliver against National Security priorities;Providing oversight and maintenance of protective security framework;Implementation of SPC and Protection review outcomes and strategic and operational 'uplift' initiatives;Leading protective security working groups as required;Supporting whole-of-government protective security requirements, including input into projects and reviews with SPC objectives; andUndertake secretariat functions for SPC.AFP appointees contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do? Under the direction of a Team Leader and Project Officer, this role will be responsible for providing administrative support which contributes to the delivery of SPC's strategic objectives.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Contributing to projects and research work to support the SPC.Contributing to the development of instructional material such as policies, procedures and processes where required.Organising meetings and performing secretariat functions.Liaising with clients and building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Other tasks as directed; i.e.
Undertake projects, researches and other tasks as required to support SPC.Maintaining contemporary skills and knowledge.Minimum Requirements: You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.Contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.Effective written, oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce high quality written work.This role is based in Canberra and successful applicants will need to be based in the ACT region.Highly Regarded: Experience within SPC Operations or an aligned support area.Previous project management and/or data analysis exposure; orAn understanding of protective security principles and Australian government security policies would be advantageous.Additional Information This position is an AFP Band level 4.This position is located in Canberra and applicants are expected to be based in the ACT region.Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At the AFP we value the different perspectives, approaches and lived experiences of our people, and recognise that our collective intelligence and diversity is what makes us stronger.
