Where you'll be working:
Working in the Emergency Registrations & Admissions Department. Please note this Department operates 24/7 and this position involves working a rotating roster over 7 days with 3 different shift types (am, pm and overnight).
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more. Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide
you
with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing:
The position is responsible for the timely registration, admission or transfer of patients who present to Ryde Emergency Department. This position involves interviewing, collection of patient personal and demographic data and ensuring patients make a fully informed financial election choice when admitted. Other duties include switchboard relief and bookings for outpatient clinics.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Proven written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated computer and data entry experience.
Excellent clerical experience and recent medical terminology experience.
Demonstrated experience in organising and prioritising workload.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to promote and achieve customer focused service delivery.
Capacity to work under broad supervision and undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high work volume environment.
