About the opportunity The Tasmanian School of Medicine is looking for a dynamic, organised individual to join their team as an Administration Officer. This parental leave backfill position is based at the Medical Sciences Precinct in Hobart and works under the broad direction of the School Business Manager and the Associate Head, Learning and Teaching.
As our new Administration Officer, you will support the preparation and delivery of learning and teaching programs within the Tasmanian School of Medicine. You will play a key role in leading numerous statewide and interstate multi-disciplinary teams who support a diverse range of operational activities including aspects of program delivery, assessments, exam results coordination and general activity reporting for the Tasmanian School of Medicine.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong client relationship with hub services and departments to negotiate and resolve conflicts to ensure optimal outcomes for timetabling sequencing, examination requirements, and teaching space utilisation.
Your expertise in administration, learning and teaching will allow you to support the strategic direction of the school programs and business planning by providing high level analysis, support and solutions to the senior management team responsible for ensuring our high-quality standards are continuously met for our students and staff.
What you'll do: Support program delivery, assessments, and exam results coordination.Provide efficient and effective client focused program administration support across all relevant campuses.Provide administrative support to the Associate Head, including support of relevant Tasmanian School of Medicine Learning and Teaching committees, curriculum, course and unit reviews and new course proposals.Provide support for the Tasmanian School of Medicine semester requirements including coordination and production of exam papers and results.Support the management and successful implementation of the Tasmanian School of Medicine annual timetabling cycle including programming of semesters, graduation and course specific events.Use and provide support for a wide range of computer systems including student management systems, finance, word processing and spreadsheets.What we're looking for: A relevant degree or post graduate qualification with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education training.Experience in delivering complex administrative and technical functions including the capacity to implement workplace change, negotiate and monitor performance standards.Demonstrated ability in the development of strategic and operational plans, policies and procedures and in driving improvement.Excellent organisational skills and a demonstrated capacity to act independently within established guidelines, using discretion, confidentiality and sound judgment.Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $102,190 comprising base salary within the range of $78,210 to $87,342 plus 17% superannuation.
