Even if you only meet some of the criteria, we'd love to hear from you.About This OpportunityWellways is seeking to expand its Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Team by introducing a new position: Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Coordinator. This role will be pivotal in supporting the National WHS Manager to ensure compliance with WHS legislation across different jurisdictions and to cultivate a positive health and safety culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:Support & Compliance: The WHS Coordinator will provide essential support in maintaining and improving WHS compliance across Wellways. This includes maintaining WHS systems and registers as well as completing day to day administrative tasks within the WHS Team.Culture & Team: The WHS Coordinator will contribute to building a positive safety culture at Wellways by building the WHS literacy of employees and assisting the WHS Team to implement WHS strategy, policies and procedures.Stakeholder Engagement: The WHS Coordinator will build and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. They will effectively communicate and ensure consultation is at the heart of WHS.Continuous Improvement: The WHS Coordinator will provide essential support in coordinating WHS compliance training and audits. Under the guidance of the National WHS Manager they will provide assistance with workplace incident management.To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:Relevant Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in WHS Administration / CoordinationQualification in WHS (Certificate IV or higher) or HR (Desirable)Rights to work in AustraliaSatisfactory Police Records Check [less than 12 months old] and Working with Children Check/Blue Card (QLD), prior to commencementNDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Orientation Module Certificate is mandatory prior to commencement: NDIS Worker OrientationNDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWSC) is mandatory prior to commencement.About UsWellways connects people, strengthens families, and transforms communities for individuals of all ages experiencing disabilities or challenges to their social and emotional wellbeing. The role will report to and support the National Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to maintain WHS compliance and drive positive health and safety culture across Wellways.
The Wellways WHS Coordinator you value communication and connection. You are skilled at developing and maintaining rapport with a wide range of stakeholders and are adept at building the WHS literacy of others. You are well versed in current WHS legislation across different jurisdictions in Australia and understand the importance of timely action. You value the social, psychological and physical experiences of safety and are committed to supporting employees and people leaders to own safety at Wellways. You bring a high level of integrity coupled with a clear attention to detail.
