About the role Townsville Catholic Education Office is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Administration Assistant - First Nations Education Emerging Leaders Incentive Scheme .
This is a full time position (38 hours per week), commencing Monday, 13 January 2025 until 31 December 2026.
The primary responsibility of the role is to provide quality, timely and efficient coordination and administration support to the Emerging Leaders Project Officer and the Emerging Leaders Project team.
The Administration Assistant – First Nations Education Emerging Leaders Incentive Scheme performs a full range of secretarial and administrative support functions, including prompt, courteous and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth and functional delivery of services.
The role holder will be required to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality in the performance of all duties and the ability to prioritise the work demands from the Emerging Leaders Project Officer and Indigenous Education Advisers to ensure deadlines are met.
Key Accountabilities Assist the Emerging Leaders Project team to organise and facilitate various events throughout the year.
This includes, but is not limited to bookings, quotes, and event logistics Organise and coordinate Emerging Leaders Incentive Level Packs, including the sourcing of items, communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding purchasing and delivery of items, logistics of getting these items to schools, and other associated tasks as required Ability to work as a team member with a high level of autonomy to manage daily workloads and to contribute towards achieving the goals of Townsville Catholic Education Proficiency in providing quality, timely and efficient coordination of general administration support in a busy environment Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact and negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders and members of the public and parish Proficiency utilising information systems (G Suite) and the ability to rapidly acquire demonstrated proficiency in the application of other information systems Effective customer-focused service within a confidential working environment About you Experience Demonstrated experience with the provision of focused and professional administrative and secretariat support at high level Previous experience handling enquiries and responding with professionalism and sensitivity to requests for information and complaint management Previous experience displaying professional and effective interpersonal, communication and liaison skills with both internal and external stakeholders Experienced user in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel and Word), Google applications and database administrations.
Knowledge Conference and event organisation and associated protocols including catering and travel logistics Knowledge and ability to operate with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality in the performance of all duties.
Attributes Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks Supports productive relationships with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently Ability to organise work.

Mandatory Criteria Certificate Business Administration or Office Studies or equivalent relevant experience and/or education/training Current Driver's Licence Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Desirable Criteria Previous experience in the education field would be considered advantageous.
