The Role We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join one of the leading local manufacturers of cement, lime, and pre-packaged dry blended products in SA.
This role is based in Birkenhead and is a perfect opportunity for work/life balance, being close to home.
The purpose of this role is to provide specialised engineering services to achieve the site's strategic plans, engineering and reliability objectives, and maximising cost effectiveness of the operation.
Responsibilities Develop comprehensive business justification for capital projects.
Project manage capital projects ensuring on time and within budget delivery.
Assist with development and implementation of effective electrical maintenance/reliability strategy for the production facilities and plants infrastructure.
Undertake improvement projects ensuring cost effectiveness and acceptable risk management.
Adopt a continuous improvement approach to maintenance strategies and technologies to improve equipment performance.
Ensure contractor and internal team members follow HS&E policies, standards and procedures.
Ensure that all internal customer requirements are maintained by reviewing information produced from plant information systems, regular production/reliability/plant modification project systems.
What You Will Need to Succeed Degree in Engineering – Electrical.
Experience in a heavy industry setting delivering and managing maintenance activities is desirable.
Qualifications and experience with HV, LV, Instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems, Confined Spaces, and Working at Heights are desirable.
Experience in project management.
Experience managing and mitigating workplace risks.
Excellent communication ability with strong interpersonal skills.
Creative problem-solving skills with the tenacity and resilience to implement solutions.
