Adabas Developer

As an Adabas Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and databases using Adabas. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the performance, security, and reliability of our database systems.Key Responsibilities:Develop, test, and implement Adabas/Natural applications to meet business requirements.Maintain and enhance existing applications and databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Analyze and resolve technical issues related to Adabas/Natural applications.Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and reports to improve performance and efficiency.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.Document technical specifications, processes, and system configurations.Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in Adabas and related technologies.Requirements:Proven experience as an Adabas Developer, with expertise in developing and maintaining Adabas/Natural applications.Strong understanding of Adabas architecture, including database structures and access methods.Proficiency in Natural programming language and related tools.Experience with JCL (Job Control Language) and batch processing.Familiarity with relational database concepts and SQL.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Preferred Qualifications:Experience with other Software AG products, such as EntireX or webMethods.Knowledge of mainframe environments and z/OS operating systems.Experience with COBOL or other legacy programming languages.Understanding of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
