The role This is a unique opportunity to join a fast growing renewables leader developing cutting edge projects in the clean energy space. You will be responsible for coordinating, leading and advising on the preparation of planning and environmental permit/approval applications, to support the development of renewable energy projects in crown land with pastoral, mining and native title overlaps. Ideally, you will come from a planning background (town planning, mining, council, infrastructure, property development) and will be comfortable working autonomously on permits and approvals.
Key responsibilities Co-ordinate, lead and advise on the preparation of planning and environmental permit/approval applications on crown land Managing external consultants for large-scale or specialized environmental and land access studies Writing applications and producing supporting documentation, managing the approvals process from start to finish Work with the senior managers to assist with site identification and front end renewable energy development duties Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and stakeholders to accelerate approvals, ensuring risk and compliance management Qualifications Degree in Planning, Environmental, Engineering, Law or relevant discipline Experience with Western Australian planning, approvals and other government processes and proven experience dealing with regulatory authorities Background in early-stage project development, planning, or mining approvals Knowledge of crown land access approvals, including overlaps with mining, pastoral, and native title Willingness to roll up your sleeves and be involved with complex, strategic and the day-to-day activities of a fast-paced dynamic environment A growth mindset and learning attitude with ambition to develop and lead a team Benefits Be the go-to expert in a growing renewable energy leader Play a pivotal role on transformative renewables projects Secure position with unique/accelerated growth opportunities Perth CBD office with flexibility to work from home or from anywhere in Australia Collaborate closely with the c-suite team, cross-functional teams and expert external advisors Lead exciting and impactful work while growing your skills in renewable energy While WA-based applicants are preferred, we're open to candidates with significant experience in WA approvals based anywhere in Australia.
