Job Description
The Medical Oncology Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital is recruiting for two Accredited Medical Oncology positions for suitable Advanced Trainees for 2025.
The accredited positions would also suit trainees in palliative medicine & general medicine - potentially meeting accredited core training in Medical Oncology.

Salary: $134,930 - $189,005 per annum
Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022


Classification: Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar)


Award: Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award


Period of Employment: Fixed term, full-time day work, 76 hours (+10 hours protected training time) per fortnight, commencing 3 February 2025 for up to 4 years. Possibility of part-time work considered.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time and part-time vacancies.


Duties: The Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides on-call cover for the Medical Oncology unit as well as infrequent after-hours emergency cover at the hospital.


Essential Requirements

General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty
