We are currently seeking a Mental Health Social Worker for our Melbourne clinic in beautiful leafy Kew East, to join our amazing team. Early career, established and new graduate social workers are welcome, with a requirement to provide services under the Mental Health Care Plan. The role is for between 22.5-37.5 hrs p/week (3-5 days), part-time or full-time.

About the role:
You will be practicing evidence-based, gut-directed psychotherapies to manage gastrointestinal disorders, including gut-directed hypnotherapy. We have a strong referral base from leading doctors. The successful applicant will also be provided with individual supervision and training with leading expert in the field, clinical psychologist/hypnotherapist, Founder and Director, Dr Jim Kantidakis. Group supervision and the opportunity to work and collaborate with positive and like-minded professionals and become part of an awesome team.
This is an ideal opportunity to develop expertise in this emerging field of brain-gut therapy, with an immediate and growing case load provided. Consulting with adults and offering the option to consult with children and adolescents, providing both in-person and online appointments to clients.

Flexible start date and hours
3 -5 days (with 1 day work from home option)
Practicing evidence-based psychotherapies, including CBT
Working with diverse clinical presentations including co-morbid anxiety, depression, disordered eating, trauma, and a range of gut disorders
Gain certification in gut-directed hypnotherapy

The Gut Centre provides evidence-based interventions for clients experiencing a range of health-related conditions with a focus on treating disorders of gut-brain interaction. This is the bidirectional communication between the central and the enteric nervous system, linking emotional and cognitive centres of the brain with gastrointestinal / digestive functions. Gut disorders may range from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) to counselling for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, as well as diverse clinical presentations including co-morbid anxiety, depression, disordered eating and trauma.
