Accounts Coordinator Location: Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Reports To: Operations Manager
We are a leading wholesale company based in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Coordinator to join our growing team. This role plays a key part in maintaining the smooth operation of our finance functions, working closely with the Operations Manager and other departments. We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time positions.
Key Responsibilities: As the Accounts Coordinator, your role will primarily focus on finance-related duties, while also contributing to other areas of the business as required. You will be responsible for the following:
Accounts: Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation: Ensure all bank and credit card transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled, maintaining up-to-date records.Accounts Receivable & Payable: Manage the full lifecycle of accounts receivable and payable, including the reconciliation of debtor and creditor accounts, invoicing, payment allocations, and follow-up on overdue accounts.Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and other financial statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.Payroll Processing: Accurately process payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable awards, superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.BAS, IAS, and GST Reporting: Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), and manage GST compliance and reporting.General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger, including managing general journals and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded. General Office Support: Administration & Office Support: Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, email and mail management, and assist with ad hoc projects as required. Collaborate with team members to ensure office functions run smoothly.Team Assistance: As part of a small and collaborative team, you may occasionally be asked to perform tasks that fall outside of your day-to-day responsibilities to support overall business needs. Key Skills & Attributes: To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
Financial Expertise: Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounts payable, receivable, and bookkeeping. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, including general journals, chart of accounts, and reconciliation processes.Payroll Experience: Experience managing payroll, including award interpretation, superannuation, PAYG, and ensuring compliance with workplace legislation.Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with experience using formulas and creating financial reports.Xero Proficiency: Demonstrated skills in using Xero are highly desirable but not essential.Inventory & Sales Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with inventory management systems such as Cin7 is an advantage but not essential.Attention to Detail: Strong data entry skills with the ability to spot and rectify numerical errors quickly and effectively.Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot operational and financial issues effectively.Organisation and Time Management: Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Autonomous and Proactive: A self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision while also being a collaborative team player.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the business and with external partners.
