An exciting pre-opening opportunity exists for an Accounting Clerk to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. This role offers the unique chance to be part of launching the Hyatt House brand in Australia, with the hotel scheduled to open at the beginning of 2025. As the Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for General Cashiering / Accounts Payable duties. Working in a small team, you will support the Hotel Accountant in ensuring the day-to-day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.
QualificationsIndependently monitor and control the Accounts Payable processAssist in distributing invoices to the appropriate approver within the document systemAssist to review, verify, and code the invoice to the correct COA and ensure to meet all payment deadlines in compliance with hotel's policies and procedures.Assist with month-end closing tasks related to accounts payables.Work cohesively with offshore Shared Service Centre to ensure accuracy & efficiency of the finance functions.Count and check all funds remitted by all hotel cashiersPrepare and coordinate periodic banking to maintain a good cash flowIssue and return of all cashiers' floatsYour background: Completed or currently studying Bachelor of Commerce / AccountingPrevious work experience in a similar position will be of advantageA strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational skillsThe ability to work well under pressureExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsEffective time management skills to achieve set deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Excel is essentialHyatt House employees enjoy, but are not limited to:
