Accountant - Large Accounting Firm in the CBDBusiness Services & Corporate Advisory (Accounting)My client is one of Southeast Queensland's leading multi-disciplinary accounting and financial services firm, with offices in Brisbane CBD and the Sunshine Coast, servicing a large, diverse and high-quality client base.Build on your core business services skills whilst utilising and developing your commercial business mindset!They are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Accountant to join the team in their brand new offices located in the Brisbane CBD.This is a dynamic role where you will have exposure to a diverse range of high-quality, large clients, allowing you to apply and build on your experience in taxation, accounting, and business services but also in commercial accounting, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions and transaction services.The role sits within the Business Services division underneath a commercially savvy Partner and as such you will be deeply involved in various corporate finance engagements such as Valuations, Buy-side and Sell-side, due diligence, capital raisings, financial modelling, mergers and acquisitions, and business case development.This position would be perfect for someone who is passionate about building on their experience and knowledge in commercial analysis and general industry knowledge.Key responsibilities will be to utilise your Business Services experience:Ownership of client engagements and assisting with management of junior staff membersPreparation of income tax returns, financial statements, BAS & IASProviding advice and assistance in relation to a range of taxation matters including FBT, CGT, income tax and GSTAssist with drafting detailed written adviceReview client accounting records in MYOB, Quickbooks, Xero, etc. to provide accurate and timely management reportsRegular contact with clients and regulatory bodiesPreparation of invoices, budgets and proposalsSecondary key responsibilities:Research and investigate quantitative and qualitative information on companies, industries or the subject matter to form well-informed recommendations to clientsConduct financial analysis of historical trading, quality of earnings, cash flow, working capital, net debt, capital expenditures, and forecastsWorking with clients to understand key valuation drivers and provide or propose key strategies related to adviceCompilation of various reports and communications supporting recommendations and opinionsRequired Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 2-3 years' experience in accounting firmsCompleted CA or CPA designationExceptional written and verbal communication skillsGood knowledge of tax legislation, accounting standards and business services complianceStrong interpersonal skillsExceptional time management skillsSelf-starter who takes ownership of work, is open to feedback and has a willingness to learnCritical thinker with commercial acumenDemonstrated ownership of client responsibilitiesHigh attention to detailPreferred Skills, Experience and QualificationsCommenced or complete CA or CPA studiesExperience with MYOB AE, System Release, all client versions of MYOB and Xero, as well as the Microsoft Office suiteExperience in financial analysis and strong Excel skills#J-18808-Ljbffr
