Accountant

The role will report to the locally based Finance and Accounting Manager.
Initially, the position will run for 12 months on a fixed-term contract basis with the potential for extension.
The role will provide exposure to both the management accounts as well as the financial and technical accounting responsibilities.

My client is a large, ASX-listed mining organisation.
Description
Month-end accounting including balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation of month-end management reports
Overseeing maintenance of the group's assets under construction and fixed assets, including performing month-end reconciliations
Assisting with technical accounting areas, including but not limited to leases and fixed assets
Preparation of month-end royalty calculations and lodging quarterly royalty and production reports to regulators
Liaising with auditors
Ad-hoc accounting tasks
Profile
To be successful in this role, it is preferred that you have considerable experience in a similar role, ideally from within a listed environment in the mining sector.
If you have been originally trained in Big 4, this would be advantageous but not essential.
Previous experience with the ERP system SAP would be a bonus.
