The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the planning, implementing, managing and controlling of all financial and associated strategic financial risk management activities, including the provision of a comprehensive financial and management accounting service to all functional areas of Council.
Reporting to the Director Community & Corporate Services, the role is a key contributor and advisor to the Executive Leadership Team.
Working in partnership with managers across the organisation, this dynamic and impactful role will drive strategic initiatives designed to improve performance and enhance the capabilities and operational efficiency of Council.
The Chief Financial Officer will lead a dedicated team and continue to foster and embed a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have substantial practical financial management experience at a senior level and CA/CPA qualifications.
The ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels and outstanding communication skills are also required.
The role will suit a contemporary leader with highly developed people leadership skills and the ability to cultivate a high-performance team culture with a business partnering mindset.
Experience working in Local Government or complex customer-focused organisations would be beneficial.
