About the Role We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will oversee the financial operations of the Institute, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management.
Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.Complete all month-end activities, including adjusting journals and reconciling general ledger accounts in a timely and accurate manner.Help maintain records of operating performance for comparison with the budget, and assist in monitoring actual results against financial commitments.Administer the preparation and dispatch of invoices and statements, ensuring prompt collection, reconciliation, and banking of funds.Manage day-to-day processing of accounts payable and receivable, including the reconciliation of ledgers to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.Review and ensure the operation of financial controls related to payroll, purchasing, general ledger, asset registers, debtors, and accounts payable.Assist with the preparation of taxation documentation, including BAS and GST, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Maintain accurate financial records and assist in preparing for internal and external audits to ensure compliance with statutory and government requirements.Identify and suggest improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Skills & Experience Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial management or accounting.Proficiency in financial software (Xero or MYOB) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax compliance, and reporting.Experience in the education or RTO sector will be an advantage.Schedule Job Type: Full Time, 38 hours per week (Monday – Friday).Salary and Benefits Salary: $74,000 - $80,000 per annum, plus superannuation.Opportunities for professional development and career progression.A collaborative work environment at a forward-thinking educational institution.How to Apply If you meet the criteria and are ready to contribute to the financial success of a leading educational provider, we encourage you to apply.
