Run by fourth generation Haigh's family, we employ over 850 people across 21 retail stores currently located in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra, as well as online, plus two factories and head office. Haigh's roast their own cocoa beans, ethically sourced from plantations around the world, to create a unique blend of premium milk and dark chocolate. Through meticulous artisan skills that include handmade chocolate creation and finishing, combined with advanced manufacturing equipment and techniques, Haigh's creates exquisite chocolates that look and taste delicious. Are you an experienced Accountant with a keen eye for detail, a love for chocolate, and an appetite for taking on new challenges? We're seeking a skilled Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time, 12-month basis. Reporting directly to our Head of Finance, you'll play a critical role in supporting our financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of financial reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement at one of South Australia's most beloved brands.
Your Key Responsibilities Include: Preparing and finalising month-end financial statements and departmental reports.Reconciling general ledger accounts, including balance sheet, inventory, and intercompany.Managing the Fixed Asset Register, including reviews, disposals, and depreciation.Preparing Business Activity Statements and assisting with annual FBT compliance.Collaborating with external accountants and internal stakeholders.Ensuring compliance with financial policies, standards and regulations.What You'll Bring: Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, supported by a degree in accounting or a related field.Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, financial analysis and reporting techniques.Curiosity and eagerness to learn, ask questions, and provide actionable insights.Tech-savviness with an adaptability to learn new systems, and a commitment to data integrity and process improvement.Drive for problem-solving with a willingness to challenge the status quo.Strong attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.Why Haigh's?
