Introduction: About the Accountant position This position will undertake CRCS's financial and accounting activities in line with policy, accounting and professional standards.
The incumbent will undertake these responsibilities in a professional, efficient and timely manner, and contribute to CRCS's aim of being a high performing, customer-focused organisation.
To achieve success, the incumbent will have excellent technical knowledge, be adept at solving problems with cost-effective and innovative solutions.
This is a full time ongoing position based at Trevor Pearcy House, Bruce.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Prepare CRCS's financial statements and performance reporting according to established timelines (ensuring that all accounts have been properly balanced) and the relevant legislation, standards and regulations.Prepare annual budgets in conjunction with the Senior Manager Business and Infrastructure.Prepare progress budget reports on a monthly basis for the CEO and Board.Oversee banking functions including monitoring bank balances, term deposits and loans, banking administration, credit cards, cash flow modelling; ensure responsible cash flow management and ensuring timely reconciliation of CRCS's bank accounts.Maintain banking systems to ensure payment authorisations are made in accordance with CRCS's policy.Ensure that CRCS's BAS and Fringe Benefits Tax Return are completed accurately and lodged in accordance with ATO timelines.Facilitate the Annual External Audit process including annual statements and reports through to finalisation within the statutory timeframe and liaison with CRCS's Auditors.Additional requirements for the role:Tertiary qualifications in Accounting.CRCS employees must hold a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration and have this with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.CRCS employees are required to undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment.
