FINANCE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an Accountant to join our UniLodge & Essence team located at our Head Office in Brisbane CBD. You will be responsible for the preparation of management accounts for Australian and New Zealand properties under UniLodge & Essence management.
About your new role:
In a rapidly growing business, this role requires the accountant to deliver a consistent, accurate and high-quality service. Our role will allow you to grow & develop your accounting and professional skills, whilst gaining a thorough understanding of how a thriving Finance Department works.
Your responsibilities as Accountant include, but are not limited to:
Preparation of month end management accounts for properties – income journals, bank reconciliations, pre-payments & accruals, profit and loss statements, balance sheet, GST and cash flow statementsVariance analysis between actuals vs budget and providing commentary.Budgeting & forecasting for properties, for both UniLodge & Essence and building ownersPreparation of year end reconciliations required for the annual audit for both UniLodge & Essence and building ownersInter-company reconciliations & ownership of corporate credit card processAccount receivable invoicing, debtor management and arrears reportingAd hoc trust receipting or review of trust payments where requiredPartnering with the Property Managers and building owners, including financial and operational reviews, process improvements and monthly/quarterly reportingUnderstanding the Property Management System and providing support to property staff when processing end of monthWhat you'll need to succeed: Commenced or nearing completion of CA/CPA Accreditation2 - 3 Years' experience within a similar accounting roleBusiness/Accounting degreeIntermediate Excel skills including formulas - pivot tables, vlookups (required)Strong attention to detail, able to meet deadlines & excellent verbal/written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills & follows tasks through to completionCustomer focused and able to effectively communicate with internal and external customersSelf-motivated and proactive behaviours are a must with examples from work historyExcellent verbal/written communication skills; be confident in explaining policy and procedures to a variety of stakeholders whilst maintaining a professional approachNational Police Check, at your own costUnrestricted work rights in AustraliaWhy UniLodge
